I fiddled around with the virtual network settings of my Hyper-V server, because Windows Update failed to run in the VMs. I set the flag that makes the NIC exclusively usable by the VM. Now, the host system tells me it has no active network adapters.

Aug 04, 2010 · DEVICE manager never really shows a problem even if the task manager tells me there are no active adapters present the only thing showing as a prob is the SCIRaid controller. This problem appeared ages ago on its on and I have attempted to update drivers at did times to no avail. When I start the PC it says new hardware found.

However, there's also another problem that occurs simultaneously: now, while my computer's booting up, if I keep re-opening the Task Manager, it'll literally take about 5 minutes to populate the "User Name" column under the Processes tab.
